OUR DOCTORS
Dr. Steve Sekerak
Dr. Steve grew up in southwestern Wyoming where he learned to appreciate hard work, horny toads, dust and hurricane force winds. He attended the University of Wyoming in the late 1980’s where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology.
He then attended Colorado State University for the longest four years of his life and received his DVM in 1993. He promptly ran home to Wyoming and practiced mixed animal medicine in Laramie and Cody for five years.
Dr. Steve made Helena his home in the spring of 1998, raised 2 children, and has recently completed his 25th year at BVH, and his 30th year in practice. He continues his simple, brutally honest no-nonsense approach to veterinary medicine and life in general.
Dr. Travis Wilfong
Dr. Travis Wilfong was born and raised in Western Oregon.
He graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science in 2014. He then went on to receive his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University in 2018. After graduation, he moved to Helena and started work at BVH.

Dr. Travis is married with two children, both boys. He spends most of his time away from working chasing down children or recreating in the outdoors.
Dr. Rebecca Harris
Dr. Becca has always had a passion for the outdoors and working with animals, which inspired her to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. Becca attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry and a certificate in Animal Nutrition. She later received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from lowa State University. While at lowa State, Becca pursued an additional certificate in Business Management.
As a 2025 graduate, Dr. Becca is excited to join the team at Bridger Veterinary Hospital and practice on all species. She has a particular interest in surgery, emergency and critical care, dentistry, and reproduction.
Outside of Bridger, Dr. Becca can be found working with horses in Yellowstone National Park (driving draft teams, packing, and guiding trail rides), hiking with her red heeler, Takoda, or snowmobiling with her family in north central Idaho.
Dr. Taylor Smith
Hailing from the rolling hills of Southwest Iowa and recently relocating to Montana with her husband, Dr. Taylor Smith brings a deep-rooted passion for animal care and a love for the outdoors. After attending Northwest Missouri State University for her undergraduate, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2024. Throughout veterinary school, she gained valuable experience working in mixed-animal practices across Iowa and Nebraska, strengthening her skills with both large and small animals. She also participated in a service mission trip to Ecuador, where she provided veterinary care to underserved communities—an experience that shaped her commitment to compassionate, community-focused medicine.

Taylor and her husband are now happily settling into Montana life, guided on every adventure by their French Bulldog, Albert, who proudly leads the way on their many outdoor excursions. Whether hiking under big skies or exploring new trails, Taylor believes that meaningful connections—with pets, their people, and the world around us—are at the heart of great veterinary care.

Dr. Taylor is excited about the opportunity not only to treat your furry loved ones, but to build lasting connections with all the wonderful people along the way.
